Terms of Use
The friendly version of the fine print: what you get, what we ask, and how we handle problems.
On this page
The basics
These terms cover your use of getaitrainingwheels.com, the AI Training Wheels course, and our free newsletter. AI Training Wheels is run by Matthew Gaumont in the United States. By using the site or buying the course, you agree to these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
Your course
When you buy the course ($9, one-time), you get personal, lifetime access to all lessons for as long as we offer the course. "Lifetime" means the life of the course, and we plan to keep it running and updated. Lesson 1 is a free preview anyone can read.
Personal use
The course is for your own personal learning. You're welcome to use what you learn anywhere, and to try the prompts as often as you like. Please don't copy, resell, republish, or share the paid lessons or your access with others. If someone you know would like it, a gift is a lovely way to share! All course content belongs to us.
Gifts
You can buy the course as a gift. At checkout you'll give us the recipient's name and email and an optional message, so please only enter details of someone who'd be happy to receive it. After paying you'll get a printable gift card and link to send them. The recipient gets the same personal access as any student. Gift purchases follow the same refund policy below.
Payments
Checkout is handled by Stripe through its Managed Payments service, where Link (a Stripe company) is the seller of record for your purchase. That's why your receipt will say "Sold through Link," and why sales tax may be added where it applies. Link's own terms also apply to the payment itself. Prices are in US dollars unless the checkout shows your local currency.
Refunds
Because this is a digital course you can open right away, all sales are final and we don't offer refunds, except where required by law. That's exactly why Lesson 1 is free: please try it first and make sure the course is a good fit.
If something's gone wrong, like you can't get into the course or you were charged twice, email [email protected] and we'll make it right. Because Link is the seller of record, Link's payment support and any consumer protection rules that apply to you (like cooling-off periods in some countries) may also apply to your purchase.
The free newsletter
Our daily tip is free. You can unsubscribe anytime with the link in every email. We may change, pause, or stop the newsletter at any time.
Educational only, not professional advice
The course and newsletter teach general, beginner-friendly information about AI. They aren't legal, financial, medical, tax, or other professional advice. AI tools can make mistakes (we have a whole lesson on that!), so always double-check anything important with a trusted source or a qualified professional. AI tools change quickly, so some details may go out of date. We're not affiliated with OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, xAI, Microsoft, or any AI company, and using their tools is subject to their own terms.
Limits on our responsibility
We work hard to make the course helpful and accurate, but it's provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. To the fullest extent the law allows, AI Training Wheels and Matthew Gaumont won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for decisions you make based on the course or on AI tools. Our total responsibility for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the course. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state where the business is based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before anything formal, please email us. Most problems can be fixed with a friendly conversation.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update this page and the date at the top. The version in effect when you bought the course covers that purchase.
